Analysis showed that the phosphorylation level of tau protein (Thr231 and Ser404) in the hippocampus of the rats in the high-dose group of Wenyu-jin volatile oil was significantly reduced (p < 0.05), and that the levels of phosphorylation of PI3K and Akt were significantly increased (p < 0.05), thus demonstrating that the protective effects of the volatile oil of Wenyu-jin on AD mice might be related to the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and Alzheimer disease.
