In a study done by Kim et al. CRCs having MSI-H phenotype with positivity of PD-L1 in tumor cells were associated with loss of expression of MLH1/PMS2 and showed significant correlation with older age of onset, female sex, infiltrating growth pattern, advanced AJCC/UICC stage (stage III/IV), lymphovascular invasion, high-density tumor-infiltrating T cells, high-density tumor-infiltrating macrophages, poor differentiation, tumor budding and a lack of mucinous histology. This evidence concerns the gene CD274 and neoplasm.
