TNF and gout: Other immunomodulatory medications that might influence the T cell compartment in FMF, gout, and CGD patients are IL-1β inhibitors (canakinumab or anakinra, used by two of the FMF patients) and TNF blockers (etanercept, used by one of the FMF patients), which by targeting these cytokines might modulate the polarization signals for T cells; non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) (diclofenac, ibuprofen; five FMF patients); statins (fluvastatin, simvastatin, taken by two gout patients); and allopurinol (four gout patients) (Table S2).
