We confirmed with flow cytometry that participants with glucose intolerance had higher proportion of CD4+ CD69+ T cells (median percent: non-diabetic (6.4%), prediabetic (37.5%), diabetic (37.7%); p < 0.05 for both), which is consistent with prior studies (Supplementary Figure 4E) (19). The gene discussed is CD69; the disease is Glucose intolerance.
