Although the expression level of SMPD1, the only gene previously reported to change splicing in sepsis (25), was too low to be identified as exhibiting differential splicing in the tested dataset, 61 other genes were identified as exhibiting differential splicing in sepsis, including seven genes that were differentially spliced in more than one cell type: AGTRAP, EIF4H, SHISA5, WARS1 and SBNO2 were differentially spliced in both monocytes and neutrophils, and MYO15B and OAS1 were differentially spliced in B cells and monocytes. The gene discussed is MYO15B; the disease is Sepsis.
