A high proportion of caregivers had transthyretin amyloidosis themselves (41% vs. 0% in our study) and they had provided care for 3 (in the US) to 7 years (in Spain, vs. 1.5 years in our study), currently spending an average of 46 h per week caring for a patient with ATTR amyloidosis (vs. 4.5 h in our study).
