To analyze whether Pks1 influences fungus-host interactions, bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) were primed or not with interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and co-incubated with opsonized yeasts of Ss54 WT, Ss54_Δku80_12, and two Ss54_Δku80_Δpks1 mutants for 3 and 6 h at a multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 5, 10, and 20. The gene discussed is ARAFP2; the disease is infection.
