Through multivariate adjustment, this study shows that, during admission, higher RDW levels (OR 1.78, 95% CI [1.48–2.14]), lower albumin levels (OR 0.81, 95% CI [0.75–0.87]), and presence of COPD were all independent predictors for 1-year mortality in the elderly.
