Highly pathogenic species, P. aeruginosa abundance was discovered to be negatively correlated with the genes IL1RN (inhibitor of interleukin-1), NFKBIA (inhibitor of NFKB), SOCS3 (suppressor of cytokine signaling), HSP90AA1 and HSPA8 (regulates infection-induced inflammatory response), thus dysregulating major pathways such as TNF signaling, NF-κB, and IL-17 signaling. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and infection.
