In a test of dexamethasone suppression in children and adolescents, Lopez-Duran et al. found that children and adolescents with depression exhibited higher CORT production (or less suppression) after a DST compared to controls without depression and that, on average, approximately 45% of children and adolescents with depression and only 18% of control participants without depression had positive DST results in the mean of all studies (Lopez-Duran et al., 2009). Here, CORT is linked to major depressive disorder.
