To gain a broader understanding of the potential role of ETS1 in the development of aneurysm, we screened aortic intima-media samples from participants with TAV for TAV-specific co-expression with ETS1. As shown in Table 1, the genes whose expression positively correlated with that of ETS1 frequently encoded proteins involved in immune system pathways (innate, FDR q = 2.7E − 19; adaptive, FDR q = 5.5E − 15) and cytokine signaling in the immune system (FDR q = 1.8E − 11). The gene discussed is ETS1; the disease is aneurysm.
