IL6 and COVID-19: In a study aimed at determining the level of interleukin 6 in patients with COVID-19, Coomes et al. (30) found that the level of interleukin 6 in patients with COVID-19 significantly increased and was associated with adverse clinical outcomes, and that inhibition of interleukin 6 is a possible therapeutic target for managing dysregulated responses in patients with COVID-19.
