Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor therapy has a proven clinical benefit for left ventricular dysfunction and congestive heart failure [12,13,14], and we obtained plasma samples from the NIH Biorepository and measured sTLT-1 levels in samples collected from 1510 patients enrolled in the Prevention of Events with Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme inhibitor therapy (PEACE) clinical trial [15]. This evidence concerns the gene ACE and congestive heart failure.
