We have also examined the involvement of the Akt pathway in the induction of Mucin2 by L1 using the BYL-719 inhibitor of Akt activation/phosphorylation [33] (Figure 7C) and found that a reduced Akt activity results in the inhibition of Mucin2 expression in L1-expressing colon cancer cells (Figure 7A,B).
