This work builds on our previous studies in which we presented changes in the expression of genes associated with Alzheimer’s disease, such as the amyloid protein precursor, β-secretase, presenilin 1 and presenilin 2, in the blood lymphocytes of neonates with untreated perinatal asphyxia or treated with hypothermia [11,12]. Here, PSEN1 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
