We also assessed mesothelin positivity, a protein expressed in the mesothelial cell lining of the peritoneum which has been described as binding to the ovarian cancer antigen CA125 and being overexpressed in HGSOC [14], as well as the proliferative marker Ki67, which ranged from 50 to 70% in terms of positive nuclear staining (Figure 3). The gene discussed is MKI67; the disease is ovarian cancer.
