Matsui, H. et al. demonstrated the efficacy of a non-viral vector gene delivery system involving the piggyBac DNA transposon in treating hemophilia A. The PB vector efficiently transfected HEK293T and iPS cells through in vitro electroporation, resulting in stable and sustained expression of FVIII for up to 300 days in vivo when administered via tail vein injection in mouse models. This evidence concerns the gene F8 and hemophilia A.
