PD, like AD, also includes altered exosomal cargo profiles, including altered levels of miRs (miR-153, miR-409-3p, miR-10a-5p, and let-7g-3p), mRNAs of the amyloid precursor protein, α-syn, Tau, neurofilament light gene, DJ-1/PARK7, and long non-coding RNAs (RP11-462G22.1 and PCA3) in EXs in cerebral spinal fluid [68], suggesting that cerebral spinal fluid exosomal RNA molecules could serve as biomarkers in regard to specificity and sensitivity in differentiating PD from healthy controls. This evidence concerns the gene PARK7 and Parkinson disease.
