In a prospective cohort of 576 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, Menez et al. reported that the plasma biomarkers soluble tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (sTNFR1) and sTNFR2 measured in admitted patients with COVID-19 were associated with a greater risk of adverse kidney outcome, which are strong predictors of these events. This evidence concerns the gene TNFRSF1A and COVID-19.
