TG and thyroid gland carcinoma: Generally, 90% of thyroid carcinomas are differentiated types that have an excellent prognosis and can be efficiently cured by conventional therapies (surgery followed by radio iodine therapy and suppression therapy with thyroid hormone); however, some patients can develop advanced disease such as poorly differentiated thyroid cancer (PDTC), metastatic differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), and anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC), that fails to respond to conventional therapies, resulting in high morbidity and mortality (Cabanillas et al. 2016; Hernando et al. 2020; Ibrahimpasic et al. 2019).
