In terms of inflammatory biomarkers, procalcitonin (17.5 ng/mL vs. 8.4 ng/mL; p = 0.01) and ferritin (1096 μg/L vs. 944 μg/L; p = 0.001) were higher in sepsis, while fibrinogen (6.4 g/L vs. 4.6 g/L; p = 0.001) and adrenomedullin (1.72 nmol/L vs. 1.47 nmol/L; p = 0.01) were higher in MIS-C.
