The 34 patients with type 2 diabetes and centre-involving DME randomized to receive placebo (n = 17) or levosulpiride (n = 17) orally for 8 weeks were well balanced for baseline demographics (age, sex, body mass index, diabetes duration), clinical characteristics [HbA1c, kidney function (serum creatinine and glomerular filtration rate), blood and intraocular pressures], and serum PRL levels (Table 1). Here, PRL is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
