METTL3 is upregulated in most inflammatory diseases, indicating that it has pro-inflammatory effects; however, opposite expression trends in METTL3 expression have also been observed in the same diseases, including sepsis-related ARDS and OA, indicating that the effects of its expression may be related to cell type, modeling methods, disease status, or other potential regulatory factors. Here, METTL3 is linked to acute respiratory distress syndrome.
