Data from the present study show that subjects without obesity by the BMI criterion but with obesity by BF% exhibit higher blood pressure and CRP in boys, and higher blood pressure, glucose, uric acid, CRP and WBC count, as well as reduced HDL, in girls, similarly to children and adolescents with obesity by both BMI and BF%. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
