Consistent with the high therapeutic potential of CD4+Lrig1+ T cells in IBD and lupus animal models, the higher expression of the genes involved in functions of Treg cells or induced by Foxp3 was observed in CD4+Lrig1+ T cells than CD4+Lrig1− T cells (Fig. 4). This evidence concerns the gene LRIG1 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
