Fos plays a role in embryonic and craniofacial development (Wagner, 2002; Durchdewald et al., 2009; Alfaqeeh et al., 2015; Velazquez et al., 2015) and was previously identified in a network of differentially expressed genes in a zebrafish model of orofacial clefts and confirmed in a human family-based association study (Chiquet et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene FOS and orofacial cleft.
