A previous animal study on asthma indicated that oral administration of Lavandula dentata extract (300 mg/kg) in guinea pigs showed a significant reduction of IgE, triglycerides, total cholesterol, glucose levels in serum and exerted antioxidant activity by reducing ROS, malondialdehyde (MDA) and increasing glutathione (GSH) levels in lungs after the 21-day treatment. The gene discussed is IGHE; the disease is asthma.
