In a study evaluating age-related differences in the diagnostic accuracy of plasma glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), t-tau, p-tau231, and p-tau-ratio for identifying acute intracranial trauma among mTBI patients, p-tau231 concentrations showed the highest diagnostic accuracy in the pooled cohort and in age-stratified analyses for diagnosing intracranial trauma on CT (21). This evidence concerns the gene GFAP and concussion.
