FBLN5 and cerebral atherosclerosis: Interestingly, a phenome-wide association analysis of FBLN5 in the white British participants of the UK Biobank identified an intronic single nucleotide polymorphism (rs1049468267) within the FBLN5 gene that was associated with “cerebral atherosclerosis” (p = 9.9 × 10-7; effect size [beta value] = 88) and “occlusion and stenosis of precerebral arteries” (p = 2.0 × 10-4; effect size [beta value] = 16).
