In patients with diabetes, those in the high Lp(a) group also had a higher risk of all-cause death (log rank P = 0.036; mean of survival in the low Lp(a) group, 67.0 months; mean of survival in the high Lp(a) group, 62.5 months) and rehospitalization (log rank P = 0.037; mean of survival in the low Lp(a) group, 66.0 months; mean of survival in the high Lp(a) group, 60.3 months) than those in the low Lp(a) group (Fig. 3). Here, LPA is linked to diabetes mellitus.
