In this study, our initial assessment revealed the ability of resveratrol to abrogate colitis by reducing colonic pro-inflammatory markers (IL-1β, IL-6, TNFα) and DAI of mice, increasing anti-inflammatory marker IL-10, increasing colon tight junction molecules (Occludin, Claudin 1), and enhancing colon and spleen tissue repair and gross appearance. Here, IL6 is linked to colitis.
