Notably, the inhibition of UGCG expression in the heart significantly reduced myocardial hypertrophy induced by pressure overload, which was further validated by the improved ventricular wall hypertrophy (Fig. 2A), lower heart weight to body weight ratios (HW/BW), decreased left ventricular weight to body weight ratios (LW/BW), and decreased heart weight to tibial length ratios (HW/TL) (Fig. 2D). The gene discussed is UGCG; the disease is cardiac hypertrophy.
