Among the 4034 patients with PD, 301 (7.46%) carried GBA1 variants, while 53 (1.81%) out of 2931 control carried GBA1 variants (P < 0.001, odds ratio [OR] = 4.38, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 3.26–5.89) (Fig. 2). This evidence concerns the gene GBA1 and Parkinson disease.
