We began our studies by examining the expression patterns of Kdm6a in the kidneys of male mice after UUO, a well-established model of obstructive uropathy that causes inflammation and fibrosis (Chevalier et al., 2009), central determinants of the progression of CKD to end-stage kidney disease (Chung et al., 2019; Ruiz-Ortega et al., 2020). Here, KDM6A is linked to urinary tract obstruction.
