In the univariate analysis, statistically significant factors associated with mortality were age > 65 years, syncope, altered mental status, Hb level < 10 g/dL, creatinine level > 1.7 mg/dL, albumin level < 3.0 g/dL, international normalized ratio > 1.5, HF, cerebral infarction, disseminated malignancy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, end-stage renal disease, Liver Cirrhosis, and ASA score. This evidence concerns the gene GSTM1 and chronic kidney disease.
