Some of this work was designed to test whether activating α7nAChR with anisodamine decreased CS mortality shortly after decompression; the result showed that activating α7nAChR with anisodamine could decrease on-site CS mortality, due at least partially to the decline of serum potassium through the insulin signaling-Na/K-ATPase pathway [50]. This evidence concerns the gene CHRNA7 and Cowden syndrome 1.
