O(6)-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) gene methylation is also associated with longer progression-free and overall survival in patients with GBM; this survival benefit is further enhanced by the addition of temozolomide chemotherapy to radiotherapy as MGMT gene methylation makes tumour cells more susceptible to chemotherapy [20-22]. In this study, we compare outcomes of 5-ALA- vs white light-guided resection for glioblastoma in the west of Scotland. This evidence concerns the gene MGMT and glioblastoma.
