The increased manifestation of CXCR3 and CCR5 chemokine ligands have been reported in a study by Turner et al.19to be followed by the recruitment of CXCR3‐ and CCR5‐positive T cells which is suggestive of an important key role for these chemokine receptors in T cell‐mediated tissue damage as seen in human inflammatory diseases, including RA. Here, CXCR3 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
