Mazari et al. [39] specifically evaluated 111 HER2-positive breast cancer patients, of whom 72 (64.9%) had calcification and 39 (35.1%) had no calcification and showed that the pCR rate was lower in the calcified group than in the non-calcified group (29.2% vs 41%), consistent with our conclusion that calcification was a negative predictor of pCR and that breast cancer patients with calcification were less likely to pCR. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast carcinoma.
