In published articles, decreased expression was observed in multiple sclerosis (MS)/experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), while increased expression of IRF7 was observed in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis (SSc), autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP), autoimmune thyroid diseases (AITD) and diabetes compared to healthy controls (Table 1). Here, IRF7 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
