Interestingly, tumors larger than the median size (3.9 cm) demonstrated significantly higher densities of total macrophages, as well as CD68+CD163+ CD206neg and CD68+CD206+CD163neg M2 macrophage subtypes, in the tumor periphery and significantly higher densities of total, CD68+MRP8-14+ CD86neg M1, and CD68+CD163+ CD206neg and CD68+CD206+ CD163neg M2 macrophages in the adjacent liver compared to smaller tumors (Table 3).
