Recent evidence also suggests that CEACAMs are implicated in modulating dependent adhesion between glioblastoma initiating cells and surrounding cells via signaling through STAT3 (63) and are known for the association with hallmarks of cancer (involving stemness, surfaceome, ECMreceptor interaction, focal adhesion, platelet activation, the PI3KAkt pathway and invasion) all supported by evidence to have an association with prognosis in glioma (64–68) and in our serum proteome alteration analysis they connected to survival. This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and glioblastoma.
