Somatic TP53 mutations are present in up to 60% of CRC patientsand are linked to unfavorable clinical consequences.72 TP53 is activated and p53 increases in stressed cells, which causes an arrest in the cell cycle.73 Mutant p53 is restricted to poorly differentiated tumors, whereaswild-type p53 expression increase is restricted to less differentiatedtumor areas. Here, TP53 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
