Hamedifard et al. in his research which aimed at analyzing the impacts of magnesium and zinc supplements on glycemic control, serum lipids, and biomarkers of oxidative stress and inflammation in patients suffering from coronary heart disease (CHD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) concluded that these two supplements had beneficial effects on fasting plasma glucose, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, C-reactive protein, insulin, total nitrite, total antioxidant capacity levels, and beck depression inventory index and beck anxiety inventory score for patients with T2DM and CHD [6].
