Among these, vortioxetine (a 5-HT3, 5-HT7 and 5-HT1D receptor antagonist, 5-HT1B receptor partial agonist, 5-HT1A receptor agonist and serotonin transporter inhibitor) and vilazodone (a serotonin transporter inhibitor, 5-HT1A partial agonist with low affinity for 5-HT1D, 5-HT2A and 5-HT2C receptors), both approved for the treatment of major depressive disorders, were characterized by a low risk of sexual dysfunction, in particular at low doses. Here, HTR1A is linked to sexual dysfunction.
