However, when only considering Pf parasitemic women at enrolment to restrict our analysis to women with known exposure to malaria in pregnancy, we found differential upregulation of several genes, including TSLP. TSLP has been reported to be expressed by placental cytotrophoblasts in early placentation and to induce regulatory CD4+ T cells by activating dendritic cells.66 The gene discussed is TSLP; the disease is malaria.
