Common mutations in NSCLC include those in Kirsten rat sarcoma virus (KRAS), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), tumor protein p53 (TP53), and Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (KEAP1), and attempts have been made to target these mutations in cancer therapy [18–21]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
