After the adjustment of age, gender, race/ethnicity, BMI, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, and CRP level, 25(OH)D deficiency (AOR = 1.48; 95% CI = 1.10–2.00; p < 0.05) and 25(OH)D insufficiency (AOR = 1.25; 95% CI = 1.03–1.52; p < 0.05) remained as the independent risk factors for CVD. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and familial hypercholesterolemia.
