More recently, in the Examining Use of Ticagrelor in Peripheral Artery Disease (EUCLID) trial, enrolling 13,185 patients with symptomatic PAD, more potent P2Y12 inhibition with ticagrelor monotherapy, did not reduce MACE (HR 1.02, 95% CI: 0.92–1.13, p = 0.65) or lower-limb revascularization (HR 0.95, 95% CI: 0.87–1.05, p = 0.30) compared to clopidogrel, with a similar rate of major bleeding (HR 1.10, 95% CI: 0.84–1.43, p = 0.49) [10]. The gene discussed is P2RY12; the disease is peripheral arterial disease.
