Giannotta et al. [33] found increased anti-sulfatide IgM antibodies in different peripheral neuropathy patients, where they were often associated with a concomitant reactivity to myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG); a selective reactivity to sulfatide was rarely found, and an association with different forms of neuropathy limited its usefulness in the diagnosis of neuropathy. Here, CD40LG is linked to peripheral neuropathy.
